Hire beauty models for skincare, cosmetics and haircare brands
To hire beauty models, post a casting that names the product category, the look you need (bare skin, full makeup, close-up or lifestyle), skin and hair requirements, dates, rate and where the images will run, then book from verified adult applicants on a signed agreement. ModelContracts gives beauty brands a model release with every booking, usage written into the agreement and an agency fee shown before you confirm.
Beauty shoots are judged on skin, hair and close-ups
A beauty frame is tight. The face, hands, lips or hair fill the picture, so the right model matters more than the set. Brands that book well decide the skin tone range, hair type, makeup comfort and close-up needs before they post the casting.
- 01 Skincare product pages with bare skin and texture shots
- 02 Makeup campaigns for foundation, lipstick, eye and nail ranges
- 03 Haircare and styling tools shown on different hair types and lengths
- 04 Paid social and marketplace ads that need clear usage for each placement
- 05 Shade range launches that need several skin tones in one day
- 06 Lifestyle and routine content for email, packaging and retail listings
Say what the camera will see before applicants say yes
Models decide in a minute whether a beauty job suits them. A specific brief gets you applicants who already match.
- The product category and whether any product is applied on camera
- Skin tone range, skin concerns you are showing and how much retouching you plan
- Hair length, type and color, and whether cutting, dyeing or heat styling is involved
- Makeup removal, patch testing and any allergies the model should flag before the day
- Close-up work such as eyes, lips, hands or scalp, and how long each setup runs
- Where the images will run and for how long, so usage is priced into the rate

From brief to signed booking in four steps
1. Write the brief. Category, look, skin and hair needs, dates, hours, rate and where the images will run.
2. Post the casting. Verified adult models apply with their portfolio, and you can invite people you already like.
3. Shortlist and book. Compare applicants side by side, then book. The agreement is generated with rate, hours, cancellation terms and usage.
4. Shoot and pay. Approve the actual hours after the wrap, the model is paid and the signed model release form stays on file with the booking.
What a beauty shoot costs on ModelContracts
You set an hourly or half day rate, the model accepts or declines, and your plan sets the agency fee: 20% on Starter, 15% on Studio, 12% on Agency and 10% on Enterprise. Models never pay anything. A simple example: one model for a four hour skincare session at $100 an hour is $400 in rate, plus a 15% fee of $60 on the Studio plan, so $460 before photographer, makeup artist and studio. Market rates by model type are in our guide to the cost to hire a model for a photoshoot.
A product page and a paid ad are different uses
Beauty images get reused more than most. One portrait ends up on the product page, in a paid social test, on a retailer listing and on packaging. Name each placement, the term and the territory in the booking. If you book for organic social and later put the frame behind ad spend, you need a new agreement and usually a new fee. Model usage rights explains how term and territory change the price. Close-up work such as hands for nail or hand cream products has its own page at hand modeling agency.

FAQ
How do I hire beauty models?
Post a casting that lists the product category, look, skin and hair needs, dates, rate and usage. Verified adult models apply with portfolios. Shortlist the ones who fit your brief, book them on a signed agreement and keep the release and usage terms on file with the booking.
How much do beauty models charge?
Rates vary with experience, market and usage. A freelance model on a standard commercial shoot is commonly in the range of $50 to $150 an hour, and agency talent or wide usage costs more. On ModelContracts you set the rate and add your plan's agency fee of 10% to 20%.
Do beauty models need a model release?
Yes. Beauty images are commercial use, so you need the model's written permission to use their likeness. On ModelContracts the release is signed together with the booking agreement and stored with the booking, so it is ready when a retailer or ad platform asks.
Can I use the photos in paid ads?
Only if the usage you booked includes paid advertising. Product pages, social ads, retailer sites and packaging are separate rights with different terms. Book every placement you expect up front, because extending usage later means a new agreement.
Can a model flag allergies or skin reactions before the shoot?
Yes, and the brief should ask for it. List the products applied on camera and ask applicants to mention allergies and sensitivities when they apply. Agree any patch test in the booking so both sides know the plan before the day.
Are all models verified adults?
Yes. Every model on ModelContracts is verified as 18 or older before they can apply to a casting.
Book models who fit your product and your shade range
Post one casting, compare applicants side by side, book the people who suit the brief and keep usage and release signed in one place. See how to hire a model step by step or compare model booking platforms first.
