Model casting from brief to booked talent

Model casting on ModelContracts replaces the inbox full of headshots. You write a brief, set the criteria, and verified adult models apply with the same profile fields. You compare them side by side, build shortlists your team can review, and book the pick on a signed agreement without leaving the panel.

Write the brief once and every applicant reads the same thing

A good casting starts with a clear brief. The casting form walks you through the parts that save time later, so models know exactly what they are applying for and you get fewer applications that miss the mark.

  1. 01 Shoot type, such as e-commerce, commercial, fashion, fitness or event
  2. 02 Date, call time, location and expected hours
  3. 03 The rate you set, shown to every applicant
  4. 04 Usage plan with media, term and territory
  5. 05 Wardrobe, grooming and any skills required

Filter by what the shoot actually needs

You set the criteria that matter for this job: category, city, height range, measurements, sizes, experience level and availability. Applicants who match appear first. You can still open any profile, but you start with the people who fit. Model types are described on pages such as commercial models and promotional models.

Applications arrive as comparable cards

Every application shows the comp card, recent photos, measurements, experience, city and availability for your dates. Models can add a short note. Because every model passed age and ID verification before applying, you are reviewing real adults, not anonymous accounts.

  1. 01 Comp card and recent photos
  2. 02 Measurements and sizes in a fixed format
  3. 03 Availability for the casting dates
  4. 04 Optional note from the model

Shortlists for this job, boards for your roster

A shortlist holds candidates for one casting. A board holds talent you want to keep across castings, such as a fit model or a team of trade show regulars. Share either one with colleagues or clients, collect their picks, and book from it directly.

  1. 01 Shortlists per casting, shared with your team
  2. 02 Boards for repeat talent across projects
  3. 03 Comments and picks from colleagues
  4. 04 Book straight from a shortlist or board

How many castings and shortlists each plan includes

Plans limit how many castings are open at the same time and how many shortlists and boards you keep. Closing a casting frees the slot for a new one.

Decide faster with your team in the same view

Castings stall when the photographer, stylist and client each review candidates in a different thread. In the panel everyone looks at the same shortlist. Colleagues leave comments on a card, mark favorites and flag concerns about fit or availability. You see the votes in one place and make the call, then book without forwarding a single email.

  • Comments on each candidate card
  • Favorites from every reviewer in one view
  • Availability conflicts shown before you book

Booking turns the casting into a signed agreement

When you choose a model, the booking pulls the brief into the modeling contract: date, hours, the rate you set, overtime, cancellation and the usage rider. The model release form goes with it. Both sides sign in the panel, and the casting closes when all roles are booked. The full sequence is on how it works.

FAQ

How long does a model casting stay open?

As long as you need. You close it manually or it closes when every role is booked. An open casting counts toward your plan limit.

Can I invite specific models to a casting?

Yes. Invite models from a board or from earlier shortlists before you open the casting to everyone who matches.

Do models pay to apply to castings?

No. Models never pay to apply, to be booked or to be paid.

Can clients see my shortlist?

Yes. Share a shortlist with a client or colleague. On the Agency plan and above, clients can also approve contract terms through a link.
