Hire jewelry models for product photos and ads

To hire jewelry models, post a casting that names the pieces, the body areas on camera (neck, ears, hands, wrists), skin tone and look range, the dates, the rate and where the images will run, then book from verified adult applicants on a signed agreement. ModelContracts gives jewelry brands a usage rider and a model release with every booking, and the agency fee is shown before you confirm.

Jewelry sells when the piece is worn, not laid flat

Scale, sparkle and fit are hard to judge from a flat lay. Shoppers want to see how a necklace sits, how an earring hangs and how a ring looks on a real hand. Brands that book well decide the pieces, the crops and the look range before they post, so applicants already know the job.

  • Necklaces and pendants on neck and collarbone for product pages
  • Earrings and hair-back looks that show length and drop
  • Rings, bracelets and watches on hands and wrists, cast through our hand modeling agency brief when hands are the whole frame
  • Lifestyle and gifting campaigns for holiday and Mother's Day drops
  • Paid social and marketplace ads that need clear usage for each placement
  • Bridal and fine jewelry lookbooks with a wider look range

Name the pieces, the crops and the skin range before models apply

A vague jewelry casting gets headshots that do not show the work. State what the camera will see.

  • Pieces and how many looks per model, with sample sizes for rings and bracelets
  • Crop: face and neck, ears only, hands only, or full length
  • Skin tone range, hair length and whether hair will be pinned back for earrings
  • Nails, tattoos and visible marks, and whether they can show
  • Makeup and clothing palette so the metal and stones stay the focus
  • Where the images will run and for how long, so usage is priced into the rate
  • Handling of high value pieces, including who holds the stock between looks

From brief to signed booking in four steps

1. Write the brief. Pieces, crops, look range, dates, hours, rate and where the images will run.

2. Post the casting. Verified adult models apply with their portfolio, and you can invite people you already like.

3. Shortlist and book. Compare applicants side by side, then book. The agreement is generated with rate, hours, cancellation and usage.

4. Shoot and pay. Approve the actual hours after the wrap, the model is paid and the signed model release form stays on file with the booking.

What a jewelry shoot costs on ModelContracts

You set an hourly or half day rate, the model accepts or declines, and your plan sets the agency fee: 20% on Starter, 15% on Studio, 12% on Agency and 10% on Enterprise. Models never pay anything. Jewelry shoots are usually short per model, but many models set a two to four hour minimum, so plan the shot list around the block. A simple example: one model for a three hour session at $75 an hour is $225 in rate, plus a 15% fee of about $34 on the Studio plan, so roughly $259 before photographer and studio. Market rates by model type are in our guide to the cost to hire a model for a photoshoot.

Jewelry images travel from product page to ad to retailer

A frame shot for your product page often ends up in paid social, a marketplace listing or a wholesale deck. Each needs rights. Name the media, the term and the territory in the booking, and price wide usage before the shoot rather than after. Model usage rights explains how term and territory change the price, and the model booking agreement post lists every clause worth writing down. FAQ

How do I hire jewelry models?

Post a casting that lists the pieces, crops, look range, dates, rate and usage. Verified adult models apply with portfolios. Shortlist the ones who fit, book them on a signed agreement and keep the release with the booking.

How much do jewelry models charge?

Rates vary with experience, market and usage. Freelance models on a standard commercial shoot are commonly $50 to $150 an hour, with a minimum block of two to four hours. On ModelContracts you set the rate and see the agency fee before you confirm.

Do jewelry models need a model release?

Yes when the face, neck or any identifiable feature shows. Jewelry images are commercial use, so you need written permission to use the model's likeness. On ModelContracts the release is signed with the booking and stored with it.

Can I hire a model for just hands or ears?

Yes. State the crop in the casting. Hand and wrist work is covered by the hand modeling brief, and ear or neck work can be cast as a close crop with the face out of frame.

Are all models verified adults?

Yes. Every model on ModelContracts is verified as 18 or older before they can apply to a casting.
